This course will help therapists define trauma, how to identify characteristic behaviors of trauma survivors, and explore how to communicate and respond to survivors from a trauma informed care perspective. This course will specifically focus on trauma related to perinatal health experiences and outcomes.

In this 2-hour live webinar, students will:

• explore the definition of trauma informed care through lecture and discussion of articles and other materials

• learn why trauma informed care is particularly important in communicating with perinatal clients, and which clients are at higher risk for trauma

• develop ways to communicate from a trauma informed approach with clients through role play and discussion
